Courage to Connect Therapeutic Center is Hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Near Glenview, IL

Courage to Connect Mental Health Center is an outpatient mental health practice located in Glenview, Wilmette, Lake Bluff and Glencoe. We provide therapeutic services, psychological testing and psychiatry to the community. It is our goal to offer our patients timely, high quality mental health treatment. Celebrating our 11 year anniversary, our practice is expanding into providing psychiatric treatment.

We are seeking a passionate, empathic and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for morning, afternoon, evening possibly weekend availability. The ideal candidate will be motivated by joining a quickly growing organization. NPs will have the opportunity to work with patients of all age ranges in the surrounding communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication assessments to new and existing patients
  • Prescription of psychotropic medication and and follow-up medication.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Develop a treatment plan that may include medications as well as other recommended therapies that would benefit the patient.
  • Provide ongoing medication management services
  • Maintain all documentation necessary for patient records
  • Actively collaborate with Courage to Connect treatment team; Psychiatrist, Clinical Director, Therapist in coordinating best course of action for each patient in psychiatry department.
  • Create strong relationships with patients and their families and provide education regarding medications/symptoms/illness/side effects
  • Collaborate with other treatment providers as needed
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and manage multiple priorities
  • Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP in the state of Illinois
  • Only candidates with full practice authority or collaborative relationship in place with a physician will be considered
  • Previous experience working with children/adolescent and adult patients in private practice a bonus, but not required.
